Constructed with sturdy and durable natural brown and green willow, this log basket was originally designed for pea harvesting before the age of mechanization. However, the attractive shape has since been repurposed to hold logs and kindling sticks and is available to order in three different sizes.

All baskets are handmade by John in small batches in his workshop in the market town of Lanark, UK, using only UK-grown willows.

I try to supply willow colours as close as possible to the natural colours illustrated in the photos above, give or take slight variation in natural willow bark. Whilst the colours shouldn't be dramatically different, please allow for slight variations in natural willow colours.

I ordered a medium basket for our new stove and fireplace. It surpasses everything else I have seen in shops, in terms of design, looks, quality/durability and also the wonderful smell. Absolutely worth the money for what you get, and I have since gone on to buy a shopping basket and wet laundry basket, with which I am equally delighted. I bought 2 baskets for our wood burners before Christmas. Fabulous quality the best I have seen. My Dad and I love them and I will be buying more once John has them made up. My Dad lined his with a piece of roof felting and has sewn it in beautifully with the aid of an upholstery needle. No more mess on the hearth! Great job John and Dad😁
